James Davock Obituary

Of Norwood died at his home Oct. 3, 2007 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Jane (Finneran) Davock for 52 years. Born in West New York, NJ. He was the loving son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Murphy) Davock. He attended St. Joseph's Grammar and High Schools in West New York, NJ and Sienna College in Albany, NY. James leaves four children: Jane Anne Collins and husband Michael of Libertyville, IL, Mary Elizabeth Knapp and husband John of Mason, OH, James E. Jr. and wife Denise of Medway, and William P. and wife Kristine of Cumberland, RI. Loving grandfather of Ryan and Brendan Collins, Patrick, Sean and Kevin Knapp, James III, Connor, Trevor and Aidan Davock, Elizabeth, William and Christopher Davock. Also dear brother of the late Andrew Davock Jr, Elizabeth Barrett and Margaret Conti. He was a Veteran in the US Air Force serving as a Radar Specialist during the Korean War. Former President of the NE Food Foundation and President of Grocery Manufacturers Assoc. of NE. Former Lector at St Timothy Church in Norwood. Funeral from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt 1A) NORWOOD on Tues., Oct 9 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Timothy Church St 10 AM. Visiting Hours Mon. 4-8 PM. Interment Highland Cemetery in Norwood. In lieu of flowers donations in James' name may be made to Caritas Hospice, 3 Edgewater Dr., Norwood, MA 02062. Dear Jane and children : Kindly accept our sincere sympathy on the death of our friend and business associate Jim. Barbara and I have many warm memories of working together ; GMR of N.E events ; all-night discussions trying to solve the problems of the food industry and those wonderful wholesaler trips. Jim was good friend who always had my respect. Sincerely Barbara and Carl Moores.
