Professor Flagg inspired me to do a semester abroad in France while at Boston College. I have maintained my connection to my "French parents" since 1992 and benefited greatly from the experience. After graduating from BC I became a French and Spanish teacher, an assistant principal and now a director in a public school. No matter my role or title, I remain an advocate for the teaching of world languages and cultures in our schools. Even now, with nearly thirty years in the field of education, I can still remember attending meetings with Professor Flagg that made me certain that study abroad would be an invaluable part of my college education - and it most certainly was! Thank you, Professor Flagg, for your support, encouragement and dedication to the students of Boston College. May you rest in peace.

Jeff was an extraordinary man who deeply impacted my life and the lives of my family. He first guided me as my professor, and years later, I was blessed to call him a colleague. His wisdom and encouragement also shaped my twins during their time at college, and thanks to his heartfelt recommendation, my son was able to pursue law school-a kindness our family will always hold dear.
Jeff´s unwavering faith and generosity were truly inspiring. He had a way of enriching every life he touched, and his legacy will live on in the countless hearts he impacted.
Margaret and family, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.

Dear Margret, I remember well our days as young French teachers in the Brooklyn school system and faculty parties which included my husband Jay and as you ebulliently referred to Jeff as `Young Flagg.´ May his memory be a blessing.
