He, like me, lined 4 houses away and often played in our yard when we were 10 years old. I was once curious about the Catholic religion and one Sunday he took me to his church.

I am a home health nurse who works every Tuesday evening. I had a very special relationship with Mr. Mooney and I will miss him sorely. We talked about politics, family, and living well. I called him Huck Finn because he would be all dressed and in his bare feet. He said he loved milk so much he mooed in his sleep. I took one of his empty 1/2 gallons a few years ago as a watering can, easier and lighter than the big ones. I think of him every time I water and I guess that won't change. I live near the cemetery and walk in there with my husband frequently it is such a beautiful place. I took a picture recently of the Mooney stone and the flowers around it and I brought it to show him thinking maybe he hadn't seen it lately and I thought he would appreciate seeing how lovely the flowers were. He got that sweet impish grin he had and said 'I planted the flowers" and was so pleased to see I thought it was beautiful.
Rest in peace, you had a rough year.
Fondly,
Carrie Kramer, North Hill nurse

James and his wife Joan were very faithful and generous supporters and generous donors to Our Lady of Victories Church (Notre Dame des Victoires) in downtown Boston for many years.
They helped the ministry of there through at least one great crisis. Of Course the greatest gift that Joan and he brought to us there was the gift of their Catholic Faith which they lived and shared so zealously with us. On behalf of all the Marist Fathers who knew Jim and served with him at Our Lady of Victories over the years, I would like to offer our sympathies the family in their loss of so great a father, grandfather and friend. Our own tears are not so much for Jim but for those who are now bereft again of one the members of the "Great Generation" who supported us in our own attempts to live the gift of faith. He was truly and icon of the truly Catholic gentleman.
May God give Jim joy in the contemplation of His Face.
Sincerely in Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
Fr. George Szal, S.M.

I had the distinct honor and pleasure to work for Mr Moone for 13 years. He was as kind and generous a man as one could ever have hoped to work for. He taught all who worked for him how to conduct themselves not only in business but in life itself. Mr. Mooney gave me a chance when very few would have and it dramatically changed my life and led to a career of over 40 years. To his son Jim and his family my sincerest condolences. Ihope you will find solace in the fact that your father and grandfather lived as good a life as is humanly possible, and will surely be welcomed in to heaven with open arms. MAY HE R.I.P.

My condolences to Mr. Mooney's family. I enjoyed spending time with Mr. Mooney when he moved to North Hill. I always found him to be gracious
and engaging, and we shared a love of the Red Sox. North Hill will miss him.
Sincerely, Maria Byrne
