Dear Candy and Family: I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim, my dear friend and mentor. I shall always remember his commitment to your family, his passion for the sea and air, and his ability to engage with everyone on a personal level. I am lucky to have been in his wonderful life orbit. Fondly, K

I will always treasure my friendship with Jim. We first met shortly after Scott entered Rhodes College. Initially serving as a Parent Trustee, he became a leading member of the Board, chairing our Finance Committee. Our friendship grew over the years and I came to appreciate even more what made him such an exceptional man. Jim was totally devoted to his family. We never talked long without my being reminded about his love for Candy and their children and grandchildren. They were always his top priority. It was a great blessing to have such a wonderful man as a friend.

Candy- So sorry to hear we lost our BC buddy this week. Our prayers are with you. I really admired Jimmy´s stoicism and how courageously he faced his treatments. Marty Gavin and I thoroughly enjoyed our quarterly lunches with Jim. We loved his stories about you, Scott and Meredith. He was so happy to be "back on the fields" watching the grandkids. You all meant the world to him. Linda and I are thinking of you all.....

Candy, I'm so sad to hear that Jim passed away. I have fabulous memories of standing on the sidelines for Thayer soccer and lacrosse games, while he entertained me with wonderful stories. He was so passionate about his family and life. Sending hugs and prayers to you, Meredith and your entire family. Libby King
