CONNELLY, Janet Phillips Of Needham, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Janet was predeceased by her devoted husband of 56 years, John W. "Jack" Connelly, Jr. Dedicated and caring mother to John P., Stephen, Sheila Scott and Kate Conry, of Needham, MaryAnn McCabe of Waban, and Michael of Bethlehem, PA. Predeceased by her dear sister, Marie Joyce; and brothers, John and Edward Phillips. Janet was the cherished "Gigi" of 15 grandchildren, Kevin, Maeve, Madeline, Denis, Elena, Michaela, Kailey, Jack, Joseph, Alicia, Peter, Maggie, Nora, Caroline and Christian; and proud great-grandmother of Amatiel and Charlotte. Also survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Janet was a proud graduate of Newton Country Day School (1955) and Newton College of the Sacred Heart (1959). After raising her six children, Janet worked as an administrator at Sun Life of Canada. Janet was happiest cheering for her children and grandchildren on the field, on the ice, in the pool, on stage, and in life. We will miss her dearly. Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, Monday, March 4th, at 9:00 am. Funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew Church, Needham, at 10:00 am. Friends and relatives kindly invited.
