Jean Folts Obituary

A longtime resident of Concord, MA, died peacefully at Emerson Hospital on May 14, after a short illness. She was 83 years old and had lived in Concord for over 50 years. Mrs. Folts husband, DeFred G. Folts, Jr. died in 1973. Born on August 25, 1924 in East Aurora, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude and William Bown. Mrs. Folts attended the Buffalo Seminary in New York and the Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from Wellesley College, she lived in New York City, where she worked at the retailer B. Altman. Mrs. Folts also worked at Emerson Hospital in Concord for a number of years. She leaves a sister, Viriginia White of Exeter, NH; her daughters Alexandra Folts of Pleasant Hill, CA and Susan Felton of New York City, NY and a son DeFred G. Folts, III of Harvard, MA, as well as two grandchidlren, Grace Felton of New York City and Alex Folts of Harvard, MA. Services at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord will be private.
