Dear Susan, Alfred, Jane, Elsbeth and Gretchen.
I was shocked when I put on my computer to see that your mother had pssed away. I wept, thinking of the wonderful relationship Frank and I had with her and your special father. Was he ever grand!
We had such fun with them-laughter followed them everywhere. And, they were so proud of all of you. I will miss her greatly.

Jean and Al were about the best in-laws Nick could have chosen. They made him part of their family and then treated us, his family, like long lost relatives. I remember the lunches my sister Gail Jean and our friend Maryann used to have at the Wellsley Inn. It was a wonder they never asked us to leave, we stayed too long and laughed too much and looked forward the the next time. We expect she will look down and wtch over all of her family forever.

She was my music teacher at Cotting School and she really belived in me. I could talk to her and stayed late after class whenever I got a chance. I will really miss you Jean.
