Dear The Pedersen Family~
It has taken me a long time to accept the fact that Jess is no longer with us. I think about her everyday, her smile, her laugh, the way I could talk to her about anything and everything, the way work was so much more fun if Jess was going to be there. I am blessed to have known your daughter, and Jessica along with your whole family will always be in my thoughts and prayers. With my deepest sympathy. ~Until we meet again~

I am so sorry for your loss.
I was so truly blessed to be able to know her even if it was for such a short time. I always found myself that much happier when I was around her. She created such a positive atmosphere and I think that no matter how serious the topic one always felt calmer and better understood when with Jess. She truly loved life and wanted to help others love life as well. She was by far the best roommate I have had and I miss her.

Dear Grace, I received the saddest phone call from Kerry Dyka about your Jessica. Although it has been many years since I left the Cape, some of my fondest memories include the Girl Scout experience I shared with you and Jess. I can still picture her constant smile and I remember such an endearing sweetness about her. Please know that I have you and your whole family in my prayers. My daughter Kim joins me in sending our hearfelt condolences. Johanna Rakauskas

I was a parent of one of the children in the headstart class of 2005. Lyndy (who is my daughter) absolutely loved her and thought that she was so much fun. She would listen to all of our issues, and sometimes how foolish they were, or just sat there and talked about anything or nothing. She would be fun, and serious when she had to be. Going to the parent meetings was so much fun. All we did was laugh! She was absolutely a wonderful woman and she will be greatly missed. I will always remember Jess what you told me, flying in an airplane is so much fun, don't be scared Deb, and she was so right. Thank you Jess!!!

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Pendersen,
We, here at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, are saddened to hear about the sudden and untimely death of Jess. She was our sunshine in the office when she worked here as our work study. She was reliable, friendly and funny. Her time here was our gift from her. She contacted us with some of her projects with Headstart and she seemed to have found her passion and giftedness in Social work. She will be missed for the enthusiasm she had for life. Our continued prayerful support.

There are no cards that one can buy or words that one can say that can truly express what is in the hearts of all of us whom loved Jess. We were so blessed to come to know her through Youth Ministry and Echo. She brought life and laughter to every situation and her kindness and love for others was a precious to gift to all. If only there was a way to take away the pain for you we would all be doing it. Our prayer for you now is that you will find some comfort and strength in knowing that Jess has given the gift of life to others and is safe and happy in our Father's loving arms. She is an Angel that will keep everyone in heaven busy and laughing. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you during this very sad time

"My dishes went unwashed today, I didn't make the bed;
I took God's hand and went with him to Girl Scouts instead.
That my house was neglected; that I didn't sweep the stairs;
In twenty years noone on earth will know or even care.
But that I help a little girl from child to adulthood grow, in twenty years the whole wide world will look, and see and know."

My memories of Jess are all so wonderful.
She made kids laugh. She made grown-ups laugh. Sometimes, she made herself laugh! I remember when her office (if you can call it that) was in my classroom. The children would leave her notes whenever she was away at a home visit."When are you coming back?" and "Are you at my house?" were common notes, written in cryptic preschool text. Upon returning, she would read every note, and reply to each child about her doings. She loved and respected everyone equally, without fail. She wore pipe-cleaner jewelry and paper hats. She ate homemade cookies (burnt as they sometimes were) and learned about every child and family. Then, she could make time for walking with a friend, talking about EVERYTHING for hours. She was a gift. We were all lucky to have known her. She touched so many lives, just by being who she was. We miss you,Jess.

Jessica -you will always be one in a million-not only to your parents and brother but to all the people you have come in contact with in the past 24 years. You have touched the hearts of so many friends,co-workers, consumers, and children by your example of giving your all to everything and everyone you have ever met. No matter what anyone asked you to do, like a true friend you always tried to help them.
With your vivacious smile and your bubbling personality, you met more people through your various jobs working in the line of social work, with the young and the old. You have seen more of life and have helped more people in your short life span than most people who live a long life.
I have been blessed to have you in my life. By your example you have set for others, I along with your many friends will carry your tourch for helping others in need.
God has a very special place in Heaven for you. You will always be his finest angel.
We always will love you.

Jessica was a sweet, happy, loving, hard-working child. She was a true classroom treasure. She will always be remembered in my heart and memory as an 8 year old third grader.
During that year she received a jewelry making kit and made me a pair of dangling orange earrings which I loved and wore for many years. When I retired I gave them to my young granddaughter who was delighted.
Jessica's life was, sadly, a short one. How privileged I feel to have been allowed to share one whole year of it with her.
