JILL LAWRENCE NEHRO

JILL NEHRO Obituary

NEHRO, Jill Lawrence (Boyd) Passed away peacefully in her sleep, on March 11, 2025, after a long and debilitating battle with Alzheimer's. She is survived by her ex-husband, Phil; her two children, Jennifer and Gregory; and five grandchildren, Reid, Boyd, Marin, Stella and Arden. Jill was born in Meriden, Connecticut and spent much of her formative years in Pine Orchard, Connecticut, attending Branford High School. She graduated from Jackson College (Tufts University) with a degree in Sociology, where she was active in the Chi Omega sorority and the Drama Club. After Jackson, she went on to earn a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a Masters in Special Education from University of Illinois, Chicago Circle. In Illinois, she worked for the Oakbrook School District as a special education teacher with a focus on children with autism. Later, she and her husband, Phil settled in Darien, Connecticut, where as a licensed social worker, she had her own clinical therapy practice in Stamford, Connecticut. Even after she retired to Falmouth, she never gave up her love of working with kids in need. She volunteered to mentor Falmouth public school students through Project RISE, following a student from middle school, then junior high and lastly, high school, building a real connection with her student. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 11:00 AM, at the Church of The Advent, on 30 Brimmer Street, Boston, MA, 02108. Reception to follow. There is no parking at the church but public parking is available nearby at the Boston Common Parking Garage.
