JOAN RICHARDSON Obituary

RICHARDSON, Joan H. (Davis) Lovingly

Remembered Died at her home in Milan, MI, on June 2, 2017 after an illness. Joan was born on July 5, 1944 in Iron Mountain, MI to Fred and Vernie (Ratcliff) Davis of Niagara, WI who predeceased her, along with her stepmother, Mildred, of whom Joan was very fond. Joan and her late husband, Clarence Darrow Richardson, Sr., raised their family in Milan and both worked at the University of Michigan where Joan delivered the mail. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid seamstress. In death, Joan joins her beloved husband Clarence Darrow Richardson, Sr.; her dog, Snoopy; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Donna May Scott, who passed before her. She is survived by her only son, Clarence Darrow Richardson, Jr. and his wife Anna (Schleelein) Richardson of Waltham, MA, who were with her when she died. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 2, 2017 in Michigan. Joan's life was immeasurably improved by the receipt of a kidney transplant from an anonymous donor twenty-five years ago which allowed her to live a full life free from dialysis.
