My brother, you are still dearly missed. Especially in times such as these when we could be a sounding board for each other. Rest easy my friend.

I am so saddened to read of John's passing. I was a graduate student at the University of Minnesota while he was there and he was loved by all of the students mostly because he treated us so well. I am originally from Boston, so I enjoyed having another New Englander in the frozen tundra who understood where I came from. I can still here his voice and see him laughing with all of us. The world has lost an amazing man.

Words are but feeble instuments of expression for the loss of my unique and dearest friend. A man of letters, seaman, comic, philosopher and braveheart, Johnny never stopped being the "kid from Salisbury" to those who knew him best. He is sorely missed. To all....time will heal, as best it can.

Diann, thank you for sharing all of John's family history, academic achievements and his passions. John was one of the most thoughtful, caring, passionate and interesting people that I had the privilege of knowing.
Charlie and I still talk about John's "wicked" sense of humor at Megan's wedding. He kept us all in laughter even though he was bravely and silently suffering himself.
John's architecural prowess certainly came through in the modifications of your cottage. He designed an amazing kitchen with the sweeping views of Casco Bay and Portland Headlight from the porch, dining area and even from the cooking area.
Diann, knowing that John positively impacted so many peoples lives will hopefully give you some measure of comfort. Thank you for sharing him with us.
