John F. Lakin, Esq.

To the Cremens Family: John Cremens was a legend that will surely be missed. I will never forget his kindness to me and my brother, Kenneth A. Lakin, Esq., when we were at Boston College. He helped us at every turn, he never said no to helping his family, including his extended family of cousins. Uncle John was an inspiration to me and I can recall the first time I saw him in the Cambridge courthouse when I was a teenager. He was an outstanding trial lawyer and his skill and knowledge of the law was incredible. He was a man with great civility, even against his opponents. His kind are rare in this world. I am a lawyer today because he inspired me to learn the law, but mostly he taught me to understand how important it is to use your talents to help people who need counsel in difficult times. I can recall when he ran for state representative against Charlie Flaherty, he told me to stick to your beliefs and always help your community. His lifetime of dedication to Cambridge, his dedication during World War II to his country, and his dedication to his family will be missed. He is the last brother, the last one of seven children, but as I reflect on this day from this seaport city in Florida, I only wish I could live his life and be half the brother, father or friend he was to so many. I extended my sincere condolences to his children and my relatives.

To the entire Cremens Family,

We were so saddened at the news of Mr Cremens Passing. Your Dad used to babysit my mother, they were true loyal lifelong friends. We recently lost My mother ,Peggy Ryan, and I can tell you Cambridge is once again in mourning for another one of thier prize citizens, and unforgetable characters. I will never forget seeing him riding in His Rolls-Royce with the steering wheel on the opposite side, Mom said he looked like royalty in it! Your Mom must have missed him so much that she called and he finally came home. They must be having one heck of a party up there!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

God Bless

Please accept my sincere sympathy and condolences for your loss. Although I never met Mr. Cremens, I am a close friend of John jr. So if there's truth to the "acorn not falling far from the tree," then he must have been an impressive man.

john was a good man and will be missed by all.

July 27, 2004

John and all of the Cremens were good friends to my family. I remember he was held in high esteem by my mother (Alida) and grandmother (Harriet) because of his accomplishments. When I was little, whenever I heard the name "Johnny" Cremens, it always evoked a sense of awe, because Johnny Cremens was a good man who helped a lot of people. Blessings to John's family and friends.
