JOHN JOSEPH "JACK" DONOVAN

DONOVAN, John "Jack" Joseph Of North Andover, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 93, following a brief illness. Born on August 28, 1931, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John Joseph and M. Madelyn (Bangs) Donovan. Jack was a proud graduate of Malden Catholic High School and Merrimack College. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Army, before beginning a long and distinguished career with IBM, where he was admired for his integrity, dedication and work ethic. Jack was a devoted parishioner of St. Michael's Church, where he faithfully attended daily Mass. He and his wife, Patricia, generously volunteered for many years at the Cor Unum Meal Center. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann (Wilband) Donovan; his daughter, Patricia Ann Donovan; and his daughter-in-law, Darlene Donovan. Jack is survived by his loving children: Michael Donovan, John Donovan and his wife, Tracy, Shannon Campana and her husband, Steven, Christopher Donovan; Daniel Donovan; and Stephanie Donovan. He was the cherished grandfather of Tara Donovan; Michael Donovan and his wife, Diana, Kelly Donovan, Ryan Donovan and his wife, Neha, John Donovan and his wife, Anne, Meghan Donovan Shephard and her husband, Bob, Kellsey Donovan, Caitlin Shortell and her husband, Kelly, Daniel Campana and Chelsea Campana. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Cailin, Rowan, Kaylie, Nolan, Grace and Bertie. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. In his later years, Jack found great joy in the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and happiness. Jack will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, quick wit, steadfast faith and devotion to family and friends. Visiting Hours: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Michael's Church in North Andover. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary in North Andover. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Conte Funeral Home, NORTH ANDOVER.
