My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Dowcett family. They have been close and special friends of my family and very generous and kind to my father, Frank, for many years. My Dad always enjoyed his visits with John and Peggy and often exclaimed about their wonderful Christmas Eve dinners. Being out of state, I will not be able to attend services. However, you will all be in my thoughts for many days to come.

Peggy and family,

My husband Glenn worked for John for about 3 years when we were living in Carlisle. I knew John because I worked at Walden Grille in Concord and he would meet Peter Hennessy for a beer there sometimes. I introduced my husband to John and that's how they became acquainted. We're so sorry for your loss. John was always making me laugh when I saw him. I know that Glenn enjoyed the quality work he performed while working for him. We hope good memories will help sustain you and your family during this sad time.

Johnnie, I too didn't get to know you as an adult, but growing up together and going through school together are times I will never forget. It was unfortunate that the first time we got to see each other "all grown up" was at my brother Fred's funeral last year. Talking and remember old times were both happy and sad. My deepest sympathy to your family. Love Patricia (Patty) Dowcett Quigley

Dear Dowcett Family,
So sorry to hear about the loss of John, your husband and dad. He was my cousin. My mother, Peggy, Julie's sister, also died at a young age when I was a teen and my heart goes out to you all. We will pray for your family and think of both Sarah and Patrick often.

My heart felt condolences go out to the entire Dowcett family with your loss. I have had the privilege of knowing John over the past four years. He was an extremely proud father and devoted husband, and will be missed by all that who have known him.

Johnnie, Though we did not know each other as adults I have many memories of summers at Gore Street when you had to put up with one more little sister than you wanted! Julie and I used to sneak into the Gore Estate and take corn from the farm. We would wander the neighborhood and go down to the river near the end of your street. You were always teasing us and harassing us! I'm sure that we were very annoying to you. We had all of our hopes and dreams ahead of us. I remember Grandpa would always be watching the Red Sox game at his chair by the window. You and Danny , Phil, my dad John and Grandpa went to Nova Scotia together. My father always spoke fondly of that trip. Rest in Peace Johnnie. My heartfelt condolences to your family. Love Karen Dowcett Gregory
