John B. Dowcett

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Dowcett family. They have been close and special friends of my family and very generous and kind to my father, Frank, for many years. My Dad always enjoyed his visits with John and Peggy and often exclaimed about their wonderful Christmas Eve dinners. Being out of state, I will not be able to attend services. However, you will all be in my thoughts for many days to come.

My husband Glenn worked for John for about 3 years when we were living in Carlisle. I knew John because I worked at Walden Grille in Concord and he would meet Peter Hennessy for a beer there sometimes. I introduced my husband to John and that's how they became acquainted. Johnnie, I too didn't get to know you as an adult, but growing up together and going through school together are times I will never forget. It was unfortunate that the first time we got to see each other "all grown up" was at my brother Fred's funeral last year. Talking and remember old times were both happy and sad. Dear Dowcett Family,
So sorry to hear about the loss of John, your husband and dad. He was my cousin. My mother, Peggy, Julie's sister, also died at a young age when I was a teen and my heart goes out to you all. We will pray for your family and think of both Sarah and Patrick often.

Johnnie, Though we did not know each other as adults I have many memories of summers at Gore Street when you had to put up with one more little sister than you wanted!
