I'm very touched and saddened by the news of John's passing. I was lucky to have known him as a true friend and loyal colleague at Franklin College in Lugano (1966-1975). He was a gentleman par excellence. A dedicated and beloved professor. After his return to the US I admired his work for 'Americans for Middle East understanding' designed to bring the plight of the Palestinian people, and the dire need for Israeli-Palestine peace to the attention of US public opinion.
I send two photos of his teaching time in Switzerland in the late 1960-early 1970's. In the group photo of the pioneer faculty of Franklin College Lugano (Now Franklin University Switzerland), John stands at the far right of the group.
I keep the best memories of John: for his kindness and cordial friendship I shall miss him.
I send my sincerest condolences to Sharon, his children Siobhan and Ryan, and the entire family. I wish them courage to accept the void which he leaves behind.

This news came out of the blue and we have been talking about the late 70s ever since. So sorry we live far apart and cannot come by to give you a big hug. They were very special days when you were here in Lugano and we have many, many good memories. Hope you do as well. We send you a big hug, hope you are dealing with it ok with the support of Siobhan, Ryan and their families. Take care. Theo and Viv.

My condolences on John´s passing, I remember him as a young priest, and his Mother Carrie´s pride and Joy.
John´s Mother and my Aunt, Mabel Curnane were good friends.
