When I think of my Uncle I remember the Sunday dinners, the spinning wheel next to the fireplace, and the people he helped. Here is a picture of him in his younger days with my mother Elizabeth.

Growing up on the same street with your grandchilden with my life long friends dave and tim i'v seen how a truely wonderful person conducts their lives in a caring and giving fashion. You were always there for them whenever and wherever they needed you. I only hope i can live a long and fulfilling life with the same dedication to his family that you have, we should all be so lucky. God bless. You will always bring a smile to my face.

I was saddened to hear of John's pasing this afternoon when I was at the funeral of Annie Mae Chisholm -- Willie D's wife. As you know, I enjoyed his humor and crazy stories for many years. I hope you are all well. Anne -- reading the obit -- it must be a joy for you to have so many grandchildren. Barb -- I hope you are well. Pauline -- I'm sure you are still the one holding everyone else together. I hope you are happy. Jack: what can I say. My thoughts -- and many happy memories -- are with you tonight.

Grandpa John,
You will always be in my thoughts daily for the rest of my life, as is my Nana Madeline. The world was a better place because of you, and I'm a better person from your influence. I hope that I can someday have the same influence on my family and people, that you did to all who's lives you touched. This world has lost one of the true Great Ones.
And I promise we will stay true to what you asked of us, who knew that this day would someday come. Though very hard, we'll try to shed few tears, and have a great party to share stories of what a great human being you were, with all your cliche's, made-up words, silly songs and contagious laughter. There is noone who ever knew you, that won't miss you. Especially me.

John,

I feel honored to have met you along my path in life. I truly enjoyed Sunday dinners at our house and your wit and humor always brought a smile to my face. I still quote some of your funniest lines to this day and I will toast you many times over as I travel through the rest of my life.

I will see you again someday and when I do I want to share a beer and a funny story with you in the basement of heaven.

I will miss you greatly, Dear Uncle John. Thank-you so much for your kindnesses and humor extended to me throughout my life and your affectionate calling me by Jean Frances, our shared middle name. You will always and forever be in my heart and wonderful family memories.
Your niece, Jean Frances Robertson/Anderson
