JOHN NORTON Obituary

John F. (Bayso) Norton Age 93 formerly of South Boston, Quincy and Dedham passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024. John was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War, member of the South Boston Wildcats and South Boston Korean War Memorial Committee. Beloved life partner of Ruthann Quigg. Husband of the late Kathleen (Pilling) Norton. Father of Janice Norton-Faherty (Brian), Karen Mullaney (Jim), John F. Norton, Jr. (Janet), Kevin Norton (Cheryl), Donald Norton (Christine) and Michael Norton. Stepfather of Michelle King, Maura Powers, Kevin Quigg, and Brian Quigg. Grandpa to Cheri Hoyle, Jamie, Dylan, and Zack Mullaney, Christine and Johnny Norton, Kathleen, Olivia and Helena Norton, Cory Bouchard, Danielle Doyle, Brittany Burke and Jessica Allen. Papa to Sydney, Summer, Sawyer, and Emmett King, Ethan and Casey Powers, Riley, Marnie, Winnie and Macklin Quigg and Anna and Rachel Quigg. Great-grandfather of eight grandsons. Predeceased by his brothers Joseph, Michael, and Thomas Norton and sisters Mary McEvoy, Catherine Norton, Barbara Keefe and Anna Ford. Loving son of the late Michael and Catherine (Clougherty) Norton of South Boston formerly of Ireland. Cherished brother-in-law of Sandra (Pilling) Hennis and also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Late employee of Boston Edison. Visitation in the O'Brien Funeral home 146 Dorchester St South Boston on Wednesday September 4th from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass in Gate of Heaven Church 615 East Fourth Street South Boston on Thursday September 5th at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial to follow at Milton Cemetery. Trish was a kind loving person. If you were down she would have you laughing with one of her stories. When her Buddy passed she told them to forget the limo she would drive he van. If you were down she brought you up. So Pat fly ,fly to your Buddy. May you rest in Peace.
