Dear Lydia, John and Doreen, I want you to know your Husband and Father was the most dedicated man I know when it came to caring about the youth of East Boston. Hockey and EBYHA in particular would not have existed if it wasn't for men like John. Eye surgery this past week made it impossible for me to be present to express my condolences but I want you to know although sadness is great at the present time, Gods calling is at any time and he truly has welcomed a great man into his Kingdom. I had the Honor to serve on the East Boston Youth Hockey Board with John as our President . It ws always the Kids first with John . He wore East Boston on his sleeve.Like his Heart . Always making sure we got a fair deal. Under his leadership the program grew in #"s.The program traveled to tournament in Montreal, Lake Placid , and of course our big End of the year Coca- Cola Tournament in Marlboro In which we took our whole program . John Thank you for what you did for our Community . For me personally I learn to donate my time to the Children of this wonderful Community from John . He also told me stories of growing up on down the point and great memories of my Grand Father and Uncles /. RIP IL President .

It's too soon. John, Lydia, Eddie & I use to double date. Dancing at the Diplomat. John & Lydia always made us feel welcome whenever we visited. He was always kind, polite and easy going. He had a beautiful smile. Will miss him.

I remember John back in the fifties when East Boston High was East Boston. During the seventies and eighties we hooked up and our wives Lydia and Grace became part of a group that experienced many great times together.
John was fun, always gracious and his true Italian background was demonstrated thru his hospitality, and canny ability to understand other people and as a father and mentor to John and Doreen gave them the needed confidence to succeed in life.
Most of all Lydia, may you gather the strength needed to go on without John.
We pray for you and your family on this huge loss.
