I befriended Dr John Spellman in the 1980s. I was the programme officer at the Ford Foundation in New Delhi for the grant to the Indian Centre for Cultural Studies. I met him a few years ago in Bangkok when he gifted my son a copy of the Blue Jay and other Stories, and a Sudarshana Chakra to me. I am very sad he is know more. I would love to hear from Suzanne Bharati.

Dear friends of Dr. John W. Spellman,
As you know, as well as being a wonderful collector of incredible friends, my dad also collected many things. He so enjoyed Wismer's Auction house and could not pass a yard sale without stopping in to see what treasure he might find. This Sunday, Oct. 17 from 9 am-3 pm, a friend will be holding a sale of his remaining items (everything from electrical cords to tools to flower pots) in his greenhouse at his farm located at RR2 #5873, Concession 5S in Amherstburg. Please stop by if you'd like to see "fall at the farm" and maybe pick up a treasure or two to remember him by. All the best, Suzanne Bharati
