I was a good friend of his younger brother Don and a fraternity brother. I spent quite a few weekends at their cottage on Cape Cod during the summer. The Stelling family, everyone, was one of the finest families I have ever known in my 80 + years. I last visited his Mom after she moved down to the Cape. She was as vibrant and friendly as always. That woman could cook and bake like few I have ever known. Both John and Don were a credit to their MIT engineering education. Don recently passed away in Zurich. They will be both be missed.

I barely knew John, but was a friend and fraternity brother of Don while at MIT. I spent many weekends with the Stelling family at their cottage at the Cape. I helped Don paint the house in Quincy one summer. Mrs Stelling was an unbelievable cook and made delicious desserts. I swear I never had the same dessert all summer whilw we were at the Cape most weekends. The Stellings were one of the nicest families I have ever known.
I came across this obituary looking for one for Don who just passed away in Zurich. May God bless the Stelling family.

Our hearts go out to you. One of the highlights at each reunion was seeing you and John. I still remember my elder son, Andrew, and I raced you guys in Sunfish sailboats at the 25th reunion. At one point we were ahead and Andrew started celebrating. I told him the race wasn't over yet so stop celebrating. You won so he learned a life lesson.
