Jonathan was my counselor when I was in high school and college. I was looking him up hoping to talk to him. I am sad about his passing but I know he's in a better place. He was an amazing person, I hope he's listening. He made things better for me and many many others I'm sure. Gregg

Very sorry for your loss. Jonathan was my clinical supervisor while I was a Social Work intern at the Malden Public Schools back in 1994-95. The sage advice that he offered on both a personal and professional level has stayed with me throughout my career. I will always remember his smile and optimistic approach to life. My thoughts are with your family at this difficult time.

I worked with Jonathan at the Beebe School in Malden. He was always kind, supportive and very caring. He knew how to get someone to smile on a very stressful day at work. I loved working with him. When I came to Beebe, I knew few staff members and he made me feel so welcome. I am sorry to hear of his death and wish my sincerest condolences to his family, which he held so dear.

Years ago, when I lived in Boston, Ellen, Jon and I spent nearly every Sunday together. We would discuss where to go for a long time while studying the Sunday Times, and almost always wind up in the North End for a meal.

Dear Ellen and Alexandra,
I just heard about Jonathan's death yesterday. He was a friend and colleague for many years in the Malden Public Schools and before that at Tri-City. He was a true mensch. He was such a calming presence and a caring listener for both students and staff. His deep clinical knowledge and his knowledge of area resources was so valuable to me as we worked together. He was bright and witty and a staunch ally for equity and the access of all students to a quality education. My deepest condolences. Elaine Nordstrom

Ellen and Alexandra,
My son Adam and I send our heartfelt sympathy to you both. Jonathan was a tremendous help and influence in Adam's life during his formative years. Not only as a professional but also as a friend. Adam holds a special place in his heart for Jonathan and will remember the skills he taught him, the advise he gave and the friendship he offered. May he rest in peace.

Our dear friend Jonathan warranted and received respect from everyone he met. He was knowledgeable, sensible and sensitive, creative, well-travelled and totally devoted to his wife and daughter. We never heard him complain about anything and never heard him speak a bad word about anyone. He was always open to share his thoughts and feelings and was always interested in hearing about other's lives and experiences. We will miss him greatly and wish to express our deepest regrets to Ellen and Alexandra and to Jonathan's extended family.
He will always be remembered as a good man.

Ellen, However peripherally our social and academic lives touched during our Lexington years, my regard for you and Jon was reinforced with each occasion when our circles intersected. However infrequent, lovely little conversations I had with Jon affirm all that's written here in celebration of him and his life. May this time of transition bring you many consolations up against the inevitable grief that comes from losing someone so special.

Over the past 46 years of our friendship with Judy and David, we had the opportunity of being with Jonathan at family celebrations and several holidays. He was such an impressive man--not just in his physical stature, but in his loving care for his family and friends and his easy friendliness to all the rest of us. Such a "mensch"--in every sense of the word! Our love and prayers to Ellen and Alexandra, Judy, David, Aliza, Rachel, Hillel, Ori, Josh and Eli and to all the rest of the Korin/Heller families. May you find comfort and support from each other and in the wonderful memories you share of Jonathan! Shirley and Cary Stegman and family

Jon will be sorely missed. There was nobody quite like him. He loved Ellen, Alexandra and the rest of his family and friends unconditionally. He was always there - for all of us. He had a great intellect and a curious and active mind. His passing comes as a total surprise; all of us are diminshed by his loss. There is a song that applies to Jon: "he was a man so full of life even death was caught off guard."
We miss you already. And we love you forever.
