To Mrs. Pereira and the family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of the kind and caring Jose. I will always regret that I learned too late to be able to attend the services. If one man deserves that respect, it is surely Jose. My husband Jerry Wall and I worked at BU for many years - between the two of us we had 75 years there and were blessed to include Jose in our hearts and lives during that time. There is much to remember and be thankful for - not the least of which is that amazing smile he frequently bestowed on those lucky enough to be around him. He was a shining example of work ethic, and a rock on which to depend. We both loved Jose deeply. As we did the wine and tomatoes! I think of him each summer, and always will, as I see gardens being harvested.
My thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences go out to you as you mourn the loss of this great man. I know this is painful. I also know that my beloved husband was front and center in that receiving line in heaven when Jose arrived. God Bless.
