JOSEPH BALERNA Obituary

BALERNA, Joseph J. Of Cumberland, RI, formerly of Stratham, NH and Sharon, passed peacefully on April 25 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Concetta (D'Alessandro) of 65 years. Devoted father of Maria Fidler and her husband John of Taunton, Donna Moore of Naples, FL, Joseph, Jr. and his wife Carol of North Stonington, CT, and Stephen of Sharon. Cherished brother of John Balerna of Long Boat Key, FL, Al Balerna of Dedham, and the late Gino, Emma DeCristafaro, and Lillian Russo. Loving "Grampy" of 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 3 at 11:00 am at Most Precious Blood Church, 43 Maple Street, Hyde Park. Please wear a mask and respect social distancing. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery. Joe was a proud Air Force Veteran. Please, in lieu of flowers, all donations can be made to www.stjudes.org Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home

God Bless ❤ you Mr.Balerna one of the most kindest human beings God ever created. I'll miss very much our talks I'm the middle of driveway. You gave me so much inspiration and guidance and true Love. Your Character was awesome fantastic impeccable. One of the kindest people you would want to know. Character in every sense of the word.
