Of Chestnut Hill, on September 25, 2013. Beloved husband of Sally (Cohn) Braunstein for 62 years. Devoted father of Alan and his wife Gailyc, Ron and his wife Claudia, and Barry and his wife Alison. Loving grandfather of Daniel, Hannah, Rachel, Bradley, Julia, Meredith and Tucker. Dear brother of Robert Braunstein and his wife Natalie, and the late Annette Roberts and her late husband Harold. Services at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward St., Newton, on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Following interment at Temple Emanuel Memorial Park, Randolph, family and friends are invited to the The Function Room at Hampton Place, 77 Florence St., Chestnut Hill, until 9:00 pm. Memorial observance will continue at his residence Monday thru Wednesday 1-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Friends Of Dana Farber, c/o The Braunstein Fund, 450 Brookline Ave., (Suite 120), Boston, MA 02215 or Temple Emanuel, c/o Rabbi's Discretionary Fund, 385 Ward St., Newton, MA 02459.

Deepest condolences to the Braunstein family. While I can only speak to my experiences with him as an attorney and as a trustee, I do wish to share with you that he set the standard for hundreds if not thousands of attorneys on how to apply the law in both a just and merciful manner. All of us are a little better for knowing him and his inherent humanity and goodness will be missed by many.

I am very saddened by the loss of Joe, and wish to express my deepest condolences to his entire family. Joe was a role model in so many ways, both professionally and personally. I will always remember the smile on his face wherever he went, his patience with and loyalty to those who worked with him, his amazing intelligence, boundless energy, and selfless disposition.
