JOSEPH PAUL "JOE" FARO Sr.

1936 - 2015

Faro, Joseph Paul "Joe" Sr. 78, Co-Owner Bay State Lobster Company, Boston. Of Middleton, formerly of Lynnfield, died on April 6, 2015. Joe passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving and dedicated family, as a result of liver and kidney failure. Joe was born on August 14, 1936. He was the youngest child of five to Sebastiano Faro and Antonietta Bordinaro Faro of Winthrop, Massachusetts. Joe is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Evelyn (Merceri) Faro. Joe was a devoted father to his children Antonietta Kelly and her husband Steven Kelly of Lynnfield, Joseph Faro Jr. of Middleton, Evelyn DeRosa and her husband Joe DeRosa of Lynnfield, Matthew Faro and his wife Cheryl Faro of Wilmington, and James Faro of Nevada. Joe was also a loving grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Joe is also survived by beloved brothers Angelo of Groveland, Jimmy of Malden, Richard of Ipswich, and Sammy of Winthrop. Joe was one of the principal owners of Bay State Lobster Company in Boston's iconic North End, located on Commercial Street. Joe and his brothers (Known as "The 5 Faro Brothers") successfully operated and employed hundreds of people at that location, providing live lobsters and fresh seafood to customers throughout the United States and Europe for decades. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed harness horse racing and at one time owned 20 horses along with his brother Angelo, in what were known as "The Faro Brother Stables". Other endeavors included Bay State Lobster North in Lynnfield and Atlantic Lobster Company in Saugus. Joe will forever be missed and in our hearts. Services were private.
