Dear Betty and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Joes passing. His friends at ADH will miss him. One of my favorite memory of him was how proud he was to be a Veteran and wearing his American Flag pin on his shirt.

I could not agree more with the comment in his obituary that said he was both "a gentleman and a gentle man." Unfortunately I will be out of town this weekend and will not be able to attend any of the services for Joe, which I truly regret. Dearest Sister Betty and Family,words cannot express the deep sorrow I feel for your loss. Joe was not only my brother in law but most importantly he was my brother whom I loved and will greatly miss.What made Joe unique to me was his great sense of humor which we both shared and our many long conversations on world events, politics,sports and family.We both had a passion for military history as well.I will miss you Lucky Pierre and please reserve a spot for me upstairs so we can continue the conversation...................Love and hugs..................Richard

My sincerest condolences to Betty and the Gelly family. My father suffered from Alzheimers the last 5 years of his life and Joe was the most understanding and sympathetic person you could ever wish to work with and for. As people come in and go out of your life, he was one I was sad to see go, a very kind and gentle soul.
