JOSEPH LARRABEE Obituary

LARRABEE, Joseph "Joe" Jr. Of Cohasset, formerly of Milton, died peacefully, after a brief illness, on October 11, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Cunningham) Larrabee; devoted father of Julie Larrabee and her husband, Jim Powers of South Boston and Joanna Larrabee and husband, Charlie Cotter of Quincy. Loving son of the late Joseph Larrabee, Sr. and Elizabeth (Lynch) Larrabee. Dear brother to Paul Larrabee of Jensen Beach Florida and his wife, Barbara. Predeceased by sisters, Virgina Willis and Elizabeth Brow; brother-in-law, Warren Brow; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Larrabee. Loving grandfather to Colin, Nathan and Samuel Cotter and to Saoirse Powers. Joe grew up in Milton. After graduating from Milton High School, he joined the Marines. He was stationed in Vieques, Puerto Rico, a place he would come love and to introduce to his family. Upon returning from the Marines, he enrolled in Suffolk University. Joe was eventually awarded a full scholarship to Suffolk Law School. However, he left after year to accept a position with General Services Administration of the federal government. In 1969, he married the love of his life, Joan Cunningham. They settled in Cohasset and raised their two daughters there. Joan passed away in 2002, but Joe remained devoted to her memory. Joe was an avid skier and tennis player. He enjoyed traveling. He was a lifelong fan of Bruins sports and a devoted grandfather. He'll be sorely missed by all who knew him. Family and friends are cordially invited to Visiting Hours from 5:00 to 7:00, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, COHASSET, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset, followed by a Burial at Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
