We were sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Cousin Grace Innis passed the sad news onto us. My mum Anna, is a cousin of Joe's from his grandfather's homeplace - Bere Island, Co Cork, Ireland. Joe's grandfather Jack Leary and my mother's grandmother Mary Leary were brother and sister.

Had the honor and pleasure of working with Joe for several years. He was a class act and an officer whom the younger guys looked up to.

So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We had a long history. He and my husband entered the army together, leaving from Malden Station. Over the years we shared many dance nights at the local halls. My sympathy to all of the family. Sister Mary and I were classmates. Sincerely, Mary O'Leary
