Joseph R. Manzo

Of Andover and Marco Island, FL, formerly of Wilmington, died Sunday after a long illness at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA. He was 68 years old. Born in Boston on December 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Pasquale and the late Mary (Viscione) Manzo. Brother of the late Bernardo Manzo. Beloved husband of Corrine (Casaccio). Lovingly devoted father of Patricia (Manzo) Rivera of Wilmington, Deborah (Manzo) and Charles McPhail of Tewksbury, and Pamela Manzo of Old Saybrook, CT. Stepfather of Cori (Washak) Sugrue and Michele (Washak) Hudson of Wilmington, Richie Washak of FL, and Greg Washak of Amesbury. Loving brother of Annette (Manzo) and Joseph Cataldo of Boston, and Marie (Manzo) and Michael Doyle of Salem. Also survived by twelve loving grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Manzo served in the United States Marine Corps and was Proprietor of Dunkirk Express Company, Inc. in Chelsea and Wilmington for 27 years. He retired in 1986. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Della Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, MEDFORD, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass celebrated at St. Raphael's Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 A.M. Interment will be private.
