Heartfelt condolences to all family members. I had known Joe many years ago from Pond Street in South Braintree where he lived, and his Father's medical office was located. Although a year ahead of him in school we had been friends at Noah Torrey and at Braintree High School. I met him again at BU in 1959, following his discharge from the Navy, and remained friendly with him there also. He was always a pleasure to be with during those times. A quality person, a gentleman and a terrific sense of humor. RIP, Joe and Fair Winds and Following Seas. We have the watch, Mate.

I knew of Joe since high school in the early 1960's, but really met him and his lovely wife in 1985. Right away I liked his smile and genuine interest in me. It felt like we were on the same page and enjoyed a good laugh no matter what. I owned a small business and Joe had become a top executive in the home inspection industry. We would greet each other with - hey CEO, how's it going? We became friendly, going out to eat on many weekends. He invited me to his house one wintery night for dinner. He said let's go into the hot tub outside. We ran in our scivvies through the snow and jumped in. He started to feed me wine until I passed out and almost drowned! The same winter, we met at the Silver Lounge in Falmouth. We closed the place singing with the piano player until they lost power. How I made it back to Halifax the next morning I'll never know. One summer night while on Nantucket, we decided to eat at the West Ender Restaurant. We were eating, drinking and laughing when the place caught fire! Everyone panicked and starting running out of the building except us. We kept on drinking until physically removed. We then returned in our rented VW van to our condo not realizing that we were driving on the bike path! On a trip to St. Croix, Joe rented a car to go sight seeing from a guy named Eddie. Unfortunately we had 3 separate accidents. Each time, Joe pull out his flip phone, call Eddie and say - hello Eddie, send another car! One Christmas eve, we decided to go to Nantucket for the famous Christmas Stroll?? Once on the ferry, we froze and were unable to get to the bathrooms because of the huge crowd. Joe stationed himself at the ladies room allowing us to use it while stopping everyone else. Let's not forget the Falmouth Road Race. Joe had a 3rd floor condo right on the road race course. I remember standing on his deck watching the runners. At that time, Joe used to call me Ronnie -moon for whatever reason- Coletti.
Great Memories!

We have known Joe Rizzo for close to 40 years, and have enjoyed his sense of humor, kindness, and his immense generosity. He will be remembered for being a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to his close knit family, and a great friend to so many. He was an intelligent, innovative, and hard working entrepreneur who started the hugely successful Tiger Home Inspection Company, servicing all of New England. He will be missed by all of us.
