JUDITH WEINSTEIN Obituary

WEINSTEIN, Judith Judith (Feldberg) Weinstein of Peabody, 80, died in her sleep from cancer on January 14, 2021. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. Judi grew up in Dorchester and moved to Chicago, where she met and married Ted in 1966, while both were working at University of Chicago Hospital. After short periods in Atlanta, GA, Harrisburg, PA, Bethesda, MD, and Cherry Hill, NJ, they settled in Flemington, NJ, where they raised their son Max and lived for 45 years. In 2016, they moved to Brooksby Village in Peabody. Judi was an animal lover, occasional folksinger, environmentalist, birdwatcher, and feminist. A graduate of Newton Junior College, she worked in several administrative jobs before starting a family. She volunteered for several organizations, including the Hunterdon County (NJ) chapter of the National Organization for Women and Women's Crisis Services of Hunterdon. A private graveside service will be held at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Judi's memory to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, PO Box 159, Madison, NJ 07940 (sthuberts.org).
