KAREN MOSS Obituary

MOSS, Karen Age 85, of Sharon, MA, formerly Lincoln, MA, passed peacefully on September 20, 2023. Born March 11, 1938 to Daniel and Naomi (Kranson) Mandlebaum in Detroit, MI. She leaves her beloved family, daughter Lauren Goldman, (husband Matthew) of North Attleboro; son Jon Moss (partner Lisa) of South Boston; grandsons Jacob Goldman (wife Sarah), Alexander Goldman (wife Amy), Mitchell Moss (partner Leska), and granddaughter Rachel Moss. Also survived by her brother, Frank Mandlebaum, other family members and friends. In the early 70s Karen furthered her education by earning an MS in Library Science at Wayne State University. Karen accepted the position of Circuit Librarian for the U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit Courthouse, Boston, in 1979. A position she held until retirement in 2006. One of many career highlights was designing the Law Library in the John Joseph Moakley US Courthouse, built in 1998 in the Seaport. Highly regarded, upon retirement she received many personal notes and accolades from First Circuit Judges and the legal librarian community across the U.S. She loved the arts, entertaining, restaurants, international/domestic travel, reading, and was a member of several culinary groups. A celebration of life is planned for a future date. The family kindly requests memorial gifts be made to the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation. https://dystonia-foundation.org

Karen was such a light in our community, she will be greatly missed. I will never forget her tenacity to join in on anything fitness related we had going on at WP- I always thought to myself, `I hope to be like that when I´m older´.
Hugs to Lauren and Jon.
