FITTON, Kathleen R. Legacy of Love and Commitment Kathleen R. Fitton, a cherished and nurturing presence to all who knew her, passed away on January 26, 2025, at the age of 90, in Quincy, Massachusetts. Born on April 9, 1934 in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Michael A. Shea and Katherine (Kearney) Shea. Kathleen's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family and her deep faith. As a devoted wife, Kathleen shared her life with the late John E. Fitton, Jr., with whom she built a home filled with love and warmth. Together, they raised their two children, John E. Fitton, III and Mary Fitton, who were the pride and joy of her life. Kathleen was not only a wonderful mother; she was the very definition of "Mom," a guiding, caring and generous spirit who always placed her family's needs above her own. Kathleen was also a beloved sister to the late Michael Shea and Sr. Mary Frances Shea, SND. Her familial bonds extended beyond her immediate family, as she is survived by three nephews and many cousins who will remember her for her friendly demeanor and infectious laughter. Throughout her life, Kathleen demonstrated a remarkable capacity for care. She selflessly tended to her in-laws, her mother, and her husband during times of illness, frequently putting their needs before her own. She embodied the qualities of nurturing and caring, sacrificing her own comforts to ensure that her loved ones felt supported and cherished. In her personal pursuits, Kathleen found joy in reading, solving word finds and puzzles and listening to Irish music.
