Kathleen Roblee Obituary

Roblee, Kathleen Mary

Jan. 8, 1948 -

Nov. 10, 2013

Kathleen Mary Roblee, 65, of Almond passed peacefully from this world at home surrounded by her loved ones on Nov. 10, 2013 after enduring a tough fight with cancer.

Kathy was born in Milwaukee, WI on Jan. 8, 1948 to Douglas and Marilyn L. Roblee. She is survived by Jean, her partner of nearly 20 years; her daughters Rebecca, 31, in Monterey, CA, and Elizabeth (Phil), 28, in Philadelphia, PA; her mother, Marilyn in Sheboygan; and her brothers, Dr. John (Maggi) of Sheboygan, Paul (Ruth) of Grafton, and Cliff (Joanne) of Davis, CA.

Kathy always embraced education. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1966, received a Bachelor's Degree from St Norbert College in 1970, was awarded a Doctorate Degree in Educational Psychology from Marquette University in 1975, and completed post-doctoral studies in Counseling Psychology at Purdue University in 1982.

Kathy's work contributions were wide ranging, yet consistently focused on understanding, supporting and appreciating people from all walks of life. Her teenage summers as a playground director at Cooper School in Sheboygan piqued her early love of children. She soon served as an educator, first at the high school level, then after completing her advanced degrees, on the faculty of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh for over 20 years. For the past fifteen years, she has worked as a Consulting Psychologist for various organizations including serving several Native American communities.

Kathy always loved the outdoors and cherished animals. She camped with family and friends at every opportunity, and eventually was able to settle into a cozy home in the country where she relished outings to count wild lady slipper orchids. She loved summer motorcycle trips along country lanes, and she loved her menagerie of rescued cats and dogs. Above all, she loved her dear friends and all the joy and support they have provided over the years.

In lieu of flowers, please remember Kathy through donations to the following non-profit where she was very active in recent years:

Took a class in Statistics at UW-Oshkosh in the late 70's. Dr. Roblee (Kathy) was an excellent teacher for the class and made an otherwise boring situation enjoyable.

I have so many wonderful childhood memories of Kathy, growing up together. Girl scouting, 8 Years at St Dominic's School, Camp Evelyn Heronomous, St Theresa Club in our basement, High school parties , and so many more. Be at peace Kathy, knowing you have left your mark here on earth, and in the hearts of your many friends...
with wings, she flies

To Kathy's partner and family, my heart aches for you, knowing you will have sad days for awhile, but you will heal in time, and she will watch over you each

Kathy was the older girl through the yard when I was little, whom I often saw and admired from a distance. She grew into a wonderful woman, and I feel very sad for her many loved ones who will miss her sorely. My deepest condolences.
