KATHLEEN SHEA Obituary

SHEA, Kathleen Marie (Rand) Age 73, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, April 24th after a fearless and courageous 18 month battle with Stage IV lung cancer. She will be sorely missed and forever in the hearts and minds of all of us who loved her. Born and raised in the Grove neighborhood of West Roxbury, Massachusetts by the late Ethel & Charles Rand, Kathleen was 14 years old when she met her husband, best friend and teammate for the next 56 years, John Shea. Kathleen & John spent nearly 30 years in Boston before moving to Scituate, MA where they lived happily for 28 years. It was only 18 months ago that they decided to relocate to Florida. Kathy loved the sunshine, swimming and most of all, spending time with her family. Always a champion of the underdog, Kathleen loved animals and was a proud supporter of the ASPCA and had many beloved pets in her lifetime. Kathleen was very proud to have completed her first skydiving jump in August of 2015 at the age of 71 years old. In addition to her treasured husband, Kathleen leaves her 4 children, John Jr and his wife, Chrissy of Lehigh Acres, FL, James and his partner, Marty of Chicago, IL, Susan & Michael Portanova of Scituate, Ma and Daniel and his wife, Anna of Scituate, MA. She also leaves 8 cherished grandchildren, Patrick, Jack, Brendan, Mikey and Grace Portanova of Scituate and CiCi, Micky & Shirley Shea of Scituate. She was predeceased by an infant grandson, Declan Padraig Shea of Scituate. She leaves a sister, Jane Walsh of Falmouth, MA and a brother, Richard Rand of Stoughton. Kathleen was predeceased by Shannon, Miss Kitty, Sparky, and Sassy, but has no doubt been reunited at the Rainbow Bridge. A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to your local ASPCA or to Hope Hospice, 1201 Wings Way LeHigh Acres, FL 33936. William J. Gormley Funeral Service 617-323-8600

I can´t believe it´s been more than 7 years since you left. As time goes on, the void you left seems to grow deeper. We all miss you so much. I know you would be so happy to see me & Danny hanging out and all your grandkids love you and talk about you. Miss Goldie is your little twin, and I´ve no doubt you are watching over us all. Although I know I´ll see you again someday, missing you is hard. Love you, Ma to the moon and back - for always
