Keith Adamson Obituary

Of Needham, died suddenly on October 2. Keith was the husband of Susan Adamson, and the loving father of Ben, Britt and Kate Adamson. He was the devoted son of Donald (Mac) Adamson and the late Claire Adamson of South Yarmouth, and the brother of Don Adamson and Jane Pawlukiewicz. His entire family loved him tremendously. Keith was an electrical engineer and was employed as a principal HVDC engineer for National Grid where he helped ensure that power from hydro electrical facilities in Canada was distributed to much of the Northeast. Keith enjoyed his job and often expressed how fortunate he was that his work was something he loved to do. He had a great deal of respect for his colleagues at the Sandy Pond station in Ayer, MA. Over the course of his career his work took him to Iran, Sweden, New Zealand and Canada. He was a graduate of Northeastern University and Needham High School. He also enjoyed contributing to Open Source software projects. Keith had fond memories of his childhood in Needham and of summers spent in Maine where he was an avid water skier. He enjoyed playing sports including hockey and golf as well as rooting for the Needham and Boston sport teams. His highest goal was always the happiness of his family, and his family was his greatest joy. His love for them will be with them forever. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, October 7th from 3 to 6 PM at the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave (Exit 19B off Rte 128) Needham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. The funeral service will be on Monday, October 8th at 11 AM at the Cape Cod Covenant Church, 11 Satucket Rd, Brewster, MA with interment immediately afterwards at the Woodside Cemetery, Summer St, Yarmouth Port, MA. I wanted to express my deep sympathy. I did not know Keith but I was the first person atthe accident scene arriving just seconds after the terrible crash. I stayed with Keith until the ambulance arrived some 20 minutes later. Keith did not suffer. For that you can find some solace.

It is very difficult for me to find the words to define how important Keith has been for me through all those years spent working together in the HVDC world. Keith will always be with me in spirit with his joy, fairness, passion and devotion to work and life.

It’s so hard to comprehend such a tragic and sudden lose. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Keith was a wonderful friend and co-worker. He had such a great zest for life and a hearty laugh that was contagious.

You could always depend on him for assistance and humorous stories at lunch.

I know that he is still with us in spirit and can still picture him smiling and waving hello to me when he arrived at work. It was a part of his always friendly nature.

I feel very blessed to have known him and will miss him greatly.
