Kenneth R. Melanson

43, Of Jupiter, FL, died Friday, May 7, 2004 at the Gerstenberg Hospice Center in West Palm Beach, FL, after being stricken with ALS (Lou Gerhig's Disease) for several years. He was the son of Bill and Joan (Daniels) Melanson of Natick, MA. A graduate of Natick High School, he was a Dean's List student at Boston University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from Boston University School of Mgmt. While at B.U. he was a photographer for the B.U. News. After graduation, he served as Marketing Representative for Advanced Information Management Inc. He later joined the Boston Company (Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Co.) as an Assistant Vice-President of Institutional Sales & Mutual Fund Marketing and subsequently became Vice-President of the Boston Company as well as President of TBC Funds Distributor, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boston Company. He has most recently been with Merrill Lynch's Private Client Group in their Jupiter, FL office. Ken enjoyed skiing in New Hampshire and Vermont as well as Colorado and Utah. In addition to his business ventures, he loved flying (licensed Hot-instrument rated), scuba diving, ocean sailing, wind surfing and golf. Ken's interest in sailing included crewing a 50 foot sailboat from Boston to Bermuda. In addition to his parents, he leaves his wife, Cynthia and their two young sons, Connor and Hunter, all of Jupiter, FL. He leaves his brother Keith Melanson, (wife Jill), and their two daughters Ellie and Bryn, all of Sherborn, MA. Kenneth is also survived by his aunt, Arlene Hand (husband - Robert) of Hampton, GA and several cousins. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Sherborn, MA with Memorial Services to be held at a later date. Memorial donation may be made to the ALS Therapy Development Foundation, 215 First St., Cambridge, MA 02141, in memory of Keith Melanson.
