KENNETH RAGO Obituary

RAGO, Kenneth A. "Ken" Age 85, of Pocasset, formerly of Westwood and Medford, MA, passed away after being compromised with several health issues, ultimately contracting COVID-19. Beloved husband of Margaret "Peg" Rago (Larner) for 56 years, son to the late John and Margaret Rago, and loving father to Donna Fahey and husband Michael of Milton, GA, Michele Mandel and husband Mark of Dover, MA, Brenda Genthner and husband Marc of Nantucket, MA, and Carolyn Scarinci and husband Vincent of Norwell, MA.

"Papa" or "Poppy" was the cherished grandfather of eleven grandchildren: Alison, Brendan and Ryan Fahey, Charlie, Owen and Ellis Mandel, Jenna, Katie and Claire Genthner, and Carson and Mary Cate Scarinci. He was also a brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and lifelong friend to many.

Born in Boston, Ken always had a love for music and his studies. Ken was a self-taught musician, learning to play drums, trumpet and piano, listening and playing throughout his life. Graduating from Medford High School in 1952, he continued his education at Tufts University, studying electrical engineering, graduating in 1956 and eventually earning Master's degrees from Northeastern University and Boston College. As an engineer, he progressed through several high-tech companies in management roles. The last phase of his career was President of Atlantic Consulting, Inc. In his retirement years, Ken enjoyed working on his golf game, beautifying his yard, quahogging in Hen's Cove and fine-tuning his culinary skills. However, his proudest achievement was always his family. Peg and his four "dollies" and their families were the center of his life. "Dad" was a role model for all with his strong work ethic, moral character and kind, humble heart. His infectious laugh, often at his own jokes, engaging story-telling and loving spirit, will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

There will be a private Burial for immediate family. Due to the extraordinary circumstances created by the current pandemic, a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Ken's Life will be held at a later date. Further notice will be posted at that time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Center or Falmouth Hospital for their dedication to patient care during this time. Holden-Dunn-Lawler

We are deeply saddened to hear about the loss of your husband, father and "papa". Ken was always such a kind and social gentleman and of course his infectious laugh is one we will never forget! I especially grew very fond of Ken during our time together in his exercise class. We spent time telling jokes and stories about our families. Love and prayers to all of you from the Cardiac Rehab team at FH.

We all mourn the loss of Ken, a wonderful, very pleasant, and super nice guy. He always had a joke or funny story which brought out smiles and laughter. But most of all, we admired his devotion to and love of his family. He had a special way about him; so kind and thoughtful.
May he now forever rest peacefully in the heavens above where he can look down on everyone and keep an eye on his lovely family and friends. God bless!!!

I am so sorry to hear of Ken's (Mr. Rago's) passing. We were next door neighbors to the Rago family in Pocasset, MA.
I have such fond memories of Mr. Rago working in his yard, always planting beautiful flowers. He and my Dad would compare notes on their yards and their latest flowers, plants.
He had a smile and laugh that just made your day. I so enjoyed the engaging conversations we would have and I truly loved his family. To Mrs Rago and the girls, I pray that you find solace in the many wonderful memories you have of him. It was always so apparent the love he had for his family. I will keep you all close in prayer.
Love,
Pam Cowan(Wetherell)
