Adamsons, Lara Age 45, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2015 at her Brookline, MA home surrounded by her loving family and friends after a nearly two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Lara was born to Karlis Adamsons and Anna Bodo on November 2, 1969 in Luquillo, PR. She spent her childhood years in Staten Island, NY, Barrington, RI and San Juan, PR. Lara graduated from Brandeis University (1990) and Yale Law School (1995). After graduation from Yale, she joined Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, a law firm in New York, followed by the Office of the Appellate Defender in New York. She married her long-time friend and love of her life, Eric Graber-Lopez, in 2000. The couple moved to the Boston area where they settled in Brookline, a place she grew to love and call home and where their son Sebastian was born. For the last several years, Lara was a researcher at Harvard Business School and also taught at Boston University's Questrom School of Business. Lara is remembered for her deep devotion and commitment to family, her loyalty to friends, her amazing intellect and beauty, a strong sense of justice and her love of life. She was a profound lawyer, lecturer and friend and inspired those around her to think deeper, continually learn, make an impact, and live and love life to the fullest. Her strength and resolve inspired hope and admiration in all her loved ones to the last moment. She was loved and will always be loved by all she touched throughout her journey. Lara is survived by her husband, Eric, and son, Sebastian, mother, Anna Bodo, stepmother, Annabel Longo, brothers, James Adamsons, Eric Adamsons, and Jorge Juan Ortiz, sisters, Debra Adamsons, Theresa Adamsons, and Ana Isabel Ortiz, a loving extended family and friends worldwide. Her wonderful spirit and joy will be celebrated at a memorial at the couple's home on September 19. In keeping with Lara's wishes, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to an institution that has changed the life of her family: The Sean Parker Center for Allergy Research at Stanford University.

i am standing on the sea shore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.then someone at my side says "there,she is gone!" ..."gone from where?"...gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left our sides and she is just as able to bear the load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me,not her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says "there,she is gone!"...there are other eyes watching her coming. And other voices ready to take up glad shout..."HERE SHE COMES!" ...and that is dying. Oh lil sister Lara it was an epic battle and you fought a valiant fight...but now you are with dad as you start your next journey...we will all love and miss you every day...

Oh, I am so deeply sad to hear this news! Lara was my best friend when we were in junior high school in Puerto Rico. She spent so much time at my house that my parents referred to her as "Daughter #3." Although I had only seen her sporadically since then, she always held a special place in my heart and in my memories from my childhood in PR. I have an upcoming trip to Boston later this month, and I was planning to reach out to Lara to see if we might be able to meet up. The last time I heard from her was a year ago, but she made no mention of her medical issues. I am heartbroken about this. I hope she was at peace. My heart goes out to Eric and Sebastian.
