LAURA FISHER Obituary

FISHER, Laura Eleanor Born April 19, 1934 to Anna Willamena and Albert Mispagel, in Los Angeles, California and passed away, Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She attended Saint Mary's Academy and the University of Southern California, where she graduated with the Mortar Board distinction. She met the love of her life, Scott Fisher, while he was in the U.S. Navy stationed in San Diego. They married in 1958. She is survived by her two children, Christian Fisher (Michele) and Alexandra Bartsch; and five grandchildren, Heather Fisher, Amanda Fisher (Austin Maier), Margaret Fisher, Nathaniel Fisher and Anastasia Bartsch. Laura prided herself on her association with Fisher College, where her husband, Scott, was President. She held business related positions and managed family investments. She displayed great economy, once being reputed to feed a family gathering of ten on a pound of hamburger. She enjoyed tennis, golf and bridge and became an American Contract Bridge League Regional Master in 1998. She also explored many other hobbies, such as learning German, disco dancing, playing the dulcimer, quilting, travel and more. She experienced many of life's challenges and her advice was: "Follow your heart. Respect decisions made by your family but live your own life. Enjoy!" Visiting Hours: A Memorial Service will be held at the Community of Christ Chapel, in Onset, Massachusetts, on October 19, at 11:00 AM. Contributions may be made in her name to Fisher College in Boston, www.fisher.edu

Laura, Laura, how we miss you. You were star of the tennis court, enthusiastic supporter and encourager for many young people and a great friend. I am so grateful that you were in my life, in Lexington, Fisher College and Onset. No one will fill that hole in our hearts and in our community that you are leaving. May your memory be a great blessing.

Laura and Scott were such a wonderful couple and a bright spot in my social life and group of friends at FoxFire in Naples, Fla. Her bright smile and optimistic view of life will be greatly missed by many. Chris Clark

Played several tennis games with Laura. Before we started she used to remind with "oh MJ do I have to beat you again"
She always did.
