Dear June and family, I am just reading this now, August 29. How sad I am at Larry's death. He was a wonderful department head in Wakefield, and I enjoyed working for--and with-- him for many years. He was kind, supportive and always helpful. Working with him inspired me to love and respect my career, which continued later. My deepest heartfelt condolences to you all. I know how proud you are of him and how thankful you are to have shared your life with him. Sincerely, Nancy McCarthy

Mr. Benoit was a wonderful teacher. I enjoyed learning French in high school. He made it fun to learn. I hope that I am as good a teacher to my students as he was to me.

I wasn't Monsieur Benoit's best student but he was one of my best WHS teachers. I thought of him a few years ago as I was driving to teach an after school puppet class at a French bilingual school in Cambridge. I realized then I hadn't had his class in 50 years. How can that be? Since condolences to his family and friends.

RIP, Monsieur Benoit! You were a gem of a teacher and a human being, and I have the fondest memories of our Senior year (1983) predominantly female French 5 class (one male student!). Monday morning "Les Actualités" were a highlight. My condolences to the Benoit family. <3 <3

Monsieur Benoit was one of my favorite teachers at Wakefield High School (class of 1968). I remember him fondly for his energy and enthusiasm when sharing his love of French and desire to pass that on to his students. Au Revoir Monsieur...

My wonderful French teacher of four years. I think of him often. The class was, of course, French, but it often took us into discussions about ideas and events from around the world. I was never a great French studenta reminder that would not be news to himbut I returned each year because of those discussions. He was one of my two equally best and most memorable teachers. The world is now at your feet. Enjoy the view and all that comes next.
