CUNNINGHAM, Liam P. 27, a lifelong Needham resident, September 27, 2016. Loving son of Phil and Sue Cunningham and cherished brother of Katie Cunningham all of Needham. Dear grandson of Jane and Bernie Powers of Chatham. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Liam is also survived by his girlfriend Sara Lambert of Needham. Visiting hours will be held in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, on Friday, September 30th from 4-8PM. Relatives and friends ae kindly invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Joseph Church, 1362 Highland Ave Needham, on Saturday at 10AM. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Liam's name may be made to the John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton (newtonbgc.com/donate.php). Liam was a graduate of Needham High School, Class of 2007, and University Rhode Island Class of 2011. He worked as a Development Assistant at the John M. Barry Boys and Girls Club of Newton. Liam was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed fishing and a good game of wiffle ball. Liam and I started working at Cradles to Cradles the same week, both incredibly competitive and eager to outshine (and at times, sabotage) one another -- we became fast friends. He was incredibly bright, quick-witted, and had charisma to boot. Long after he left Cradles, he remained one of our biggest advocates and champions, making connections for us everywhere he went.

I was lucky to have Liam as a caring and thoughtful friend long after he left Cradles. He was a source of unconditional support and always knew how to put a smile on my face. I will hold him in my heart.

Phil, Sue & The Cunningham Family,

Words cannot express how deeply saddened we are. Liam was such a sweet, kind, caring, smart & very polite young man. He always knew when it was our busy season & would call us, ask if we needed help and would come right in with that gorgeous, beaming smile to assist with floral deliveries. But it was the way in which he walked into the store.... He ALWAYS greeted us with a huge smile & giant hug, always. Liam will be cherished in our heart and memories forever.
