We met over the sale of our cottage. But, another house was chosen. However, we established a 30 year strong friends relationship. We had long pontoon afternoons on Squam Lake,Scrabble games, cookouts,Hebron Fairs birthdays, anniversaries which will never be forgotten by us. We extend our deepest sympathy to you,Charlie, and to all the Showalter family. We will never forget the kind, wonderful, sincere person that Lisa was. Rest in peace, dear friend. Gail and Mark Yeskis

I have always been more than a bit in awe of Lisa-joining me in Boston after college without a job( but ending up 1st female president of BSTA ), defying "tradition" (and the bankers) by buying her own home, cooking up a gourmet meal when I insisted the cupboards were bare, even moving to New Hampshie and starting a new career after retiring! But maybe never more so did I experience that awe than when the cancer came. Watching her take that "it is what it is " attitude and seeking every opportunity offered to keep it at bay with such courage and dignity. To Charlie (who deserves his own caretaking awe) and the entire Showalter family my deepest sympathy.

Sorry to hear about Lisa going,on to Glory Charlie. It was such a pleasure to have Lisa in the Bible Study for a while. In spite of her pain, she was always congenial and had a real teachable spirit.

To Charlie and all the Showalter Family - We had a very special friendship spanning nearly 30 years. Lisa was always intelligent, innovative, caring, gracious, loving and strong. Lisa's gifts and generosity to the New Hampshire community were many. She never stopped fighting against the demon Cancer. Bravo, Lisa! Such an inspiration for so many! We will miss you and remember you in our lives and prayers always.

I had the pleasure to work with Lisa for many years early on in my career. She was a special human being...one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever known. She gave back in all facets of her life. She has earned her wings...we are all blessed to have known her. All my prayers and sympathies to you Charlie and the family.

I got to know Lisa many years ago through the BSTA. She always encouraged and inspired everyone to get involved in the organization and it was very fitting she was the first woman to be President. We will miss her. John Goc , Saugus MA

As the first woman elected President of the BSTA, Lisa was an inspiration to me and I was proud to follow in the footsteps she forged for all women. She stayed a long time friend and I am so glad that the BSTA was able to honor her this year. Lisa was a great lady and she will be forever missed.

Her smile was infectious, her laugh was golden, her strength and resolve unbeatable. Lisa gave so much of herself and tried so hard to beat the beast. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her for her optimistic outlook during it all. She is sorely missed, but I can still feel and see her beautiful face.
