Thinking of you today, Lisa. The word beacon came to me this morning, and you served as a beacon in such a special way - whether offering guidance, hope, or simple kindness. Thank you again for making my world (and the worlds of so many others) so much brighter.

Recently learned of Lisa's passing. I was shocked, to say the least.

Gentle, loving, and kind, Lisa was an inspiration in her leadership capacity-truly one of a kind.

My sympathies to her family and friends.

I just wanted to say "Thank you Lisa" for making my experience at NSCC one that helped me to grow and learn about human connection. You were a tireless fighter for our most vulnerable and the lessons you taught me about reaching out to help people in need have guided my life personally and in my new career helping other people with physical and cognitive challenges live their lives to the fullest. I will remember you fondly and again, thank you Lisa for touching my life in such a profoundly positive way. With lots of love, Mike.

I found the courage to write here and post a picture. You always believed in me and always pushed me as you did to so many others. I was extremely sad to hear about your passing as a matter or fact i am still sad. I find myself with tears in my eyes when i think of our conversations and emails back and forth every semester about the new students and the National society. I still laugh when i think about how we joked about my children. Ohh Only God knows how much I miss not seeing your face and finding those doors to your office closed. Those door were always open to help, just like you, just like you heart. May your higher power have you by his side. Now, Rest Angel Rest. I miss you.

For many years Lisa has been at the very heart of all student and college activities here at NSCC. She has always been a cherished colleague and friend not only to me but to so very many. She gave with her whole heart and soul. I believe she took a straight flight to heaven with a rainbow as a backdrop. Sleep in heavenly peace dear Lisa. You have been deeply loved and your smiling face and kindness will be deeply missed. As one of the biggest tributes states from the Bible: "Well done my true and faithful servant".

We all lost a gem. I remember being a student and a worker at NSCC and seeing Lisa work countless hours making sure the Student Life Program and NSCC events were A+. I remember Lisa as a person who never gave up on anyone and brought out the best out of everyone. NSCC will never be the same without Lisa.

Sending condolences and prayers to her family, friends and co-workers at NSCC

Lisa was truly an amazing human being with boundless energy and enthusiasm. Her dedication to the entire NSCC staff, students and alumni was beyond compare. I am honored to have been able to know her even for only the past few years, but I am a different person because of her. I participated in so much because of her, Sigma Alpha Pi, Phi Theta Kappa, commencement, President Gentile's Inauguration and, of course, the Flash Mobs! Lisa was the person I knew I could go to when I didn't know who to ask, and she lent me a shoulder once or twice when I really needed it. Our world has lost a beautiful woman, but heaven has gained an extraordinary angel. May all the love expressed by all of her friends and colleagues bring comfort to Lisa's family today and in the future.

Lisa Milso, my friend and colleague, was of enormous help to me over the many years we served together at North Shore Community College. In 2001, she worked hard to bring Brent Scarpo to the College's 10th Forum on Tolerance to teach about a journey to a hate free millennium. Lisa made all the preparations for the gym where the Forums were featured. Among her multitude of responsibilities, she would take time to meet and plan with me, which I deeply appreciated. NSCC Commencement always ran smoothly because of Lisa's preparations and the ushers she trained. She became the beloved liaison between the students and College functions. Lisa devoted long hours to Student Life activities, which in turn was truly her life that she performed with smiles. I am proud of her contributions to make higher education at the College great. May the memory of Lisa Milso be a blessing to everyone privileged to know her and love her.
