When I read the text Larry sent me, I truly read the message twice. Smile, kind, devoted to family, devoted to his faith and church are the words that immediately come to mind when I reflect on the seven years I knew Marc as a parent at the Chestnut Hill School and a member of the Church of the Redeemer. Beth, Marc, Kurt and Jayne were truly a family of kindness and graciousness. Never did I ever hear of member of the family complain and they were always willing to give a helping hand whether at school or church regardless of the busy schedules. Marc always attended every event at CHS for his children even though during this time he commuted to Detroit. I never once saw him without his smile and his true desire of love for his children and Beth. Marc was always at Redeemer and I remember the Christmas bazaars where he stood outside to sell Christmas trees. I also remember the smile on his face as he watched Kurt in the lead of Oklahoma at CHS. Janye traveled on two mission trips where I was able to observe the kindness and the graciousness taught to her by her parents. There are never the right words to say only that knowing this family was a privilege. At times such as these the family is surrounding with friends and loved ones. Please know that we will continue to keep in touch in the months ahead.
