MARC MYERS Obituary

MYERS, Marc W. Of Brookline, November 15, 2018. Devoted and adoring husband of Beth E. Myers. Loving father of Janey and Curt. Beloved son of Martha and Henry F. Myers, III of Williamsburg, VA and son-in-law of Marjorie and Robert Barnes of Greenville, S.C. Also survived by his sister Wendy and her husband Vaughan Jones and his brother Henry F. Myers, IV and his wife Susan, as well as nieces and nephews Bethany, Ian, Alice, Spencer, Denver, and Boothe. Marc was a graduate of Cornell University and earned his M.B.A. at the University of Texas. He was a partner at Ernst & Young and an active member of the Church of the Redeemer community in Chestnut Hill. Marc's faith was his compass and his family was his cornerstone. His wife Beth and his children Janey and Curt were the center of his universe. Everyone blessed to have known him will always remember his perpetual smile. He enjoyed performance driving and traveling around the world with his family. Marc adored his dogs and always believed in the Red Sox who just finished giving him one last great season. His commitment to his profession earned him the respect of his colleagues. He was a friend that every friend would like to have. His unbounded love for his family was only surpassed by their love for him. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral service at The Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill at 379 Hammond Street on Tuesday November 20 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marc's memory to the U.S.O. When I read the text Larry sent me, I truly read the message twice. Smile, kind, devoted to family, devoted to his faith and church are the words that immediately come to mind when I reflect on the seven years I knew Marc as a parent at the Chestnut Hill School and a member of the Church of the Redeemer. Beth, Marc, Kurt and Jayne were truly a family of kindness and graciousness. Never did I ever hear of member of the family complain and they were always willing to give a helping hand whether at school or church regardless of the busy schedules. Marc always attended every event at CHS for his children even though during this time he commuted to Detroit. I never once saw him without his smile and his true desire of love for his children and Beth. Marc was always at Redeemer and I remember the Christmas bazaars where he stood outside to sell Christmas trees. I also remember the smile on his face as he watched Kurt in the lead of Oklahoma at CHS. Janye traveled on two mission trips where I was able to observe the kindness and the graciousness taught to her by her parents. There are never the right words to say only that knowing this family was a privilege. At times such as these the family is surrounding with friends and loved ones. Please know that we will continue to keep in touch in the months ahead.
