MARGARET BARRETT

BARRETT, Margaret "Peggy" Of Framingham, formerly of Mattapan, Bedford, and Woburn, died peacefully on May 3, 2022. Beloved daughter of the late Marie (Wilson) and Thomas McDermott. Devoted mother of Megan Dowling and her husband Daniel, and Erin Barrett. Loving Nana of Aidan, Nora, Brendan, Kate, and Robert. Sister of John McDermott, Mary Heckman, and the late Thomas McDermott. Also survived my many cherished nieces and nephews. Visitation in the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester St., SOUTH BOSTON, on Tuesday, May 10th from 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 1400 Washington Street, South End, on Wednesday, May 11th at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree. Peggy taught for many years as a former Sister of St. Joseph, during which time her religious name was Sister Thomas Marie. Afterward, she remained a lifetime member of the CSJ Associates. She was a longtime labor and delivery nurse at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where she was an integral member of the HEAL (Help Educate After Loss) committee.
