Ms. Carroll was an angel in my life and very instrumental in my going to college. As a student during her tenure at Boston Business School, she encouraged me to enroll at UMass Boston the first year they opened 1966. I went on to matriculate from Newton College of the Sacred Heart in 1969, and celebrated the 50th reunion at Boston College in 2019. I received my Master in Education from Wheelock in 1972...all because she saw something in me and helped, a kid from Roxbury, along the way.

I am a class of '72 alumna. I'm wondering if miss Carroll was a descendant of author lewis carroll, hence the alice in wonderland theme for the school? Anyone know?

It is amazing to me that so many of my colleagues here at Boston Latin School remember Miss Carroll. We have shared many laughs (and some tears) about our years at Girls' Latin School. We will never forget Miss Carroll.

Miss Carroll exemplified everything right with education. I will always remember her dignified yet personal manner which was so instrumental in the lives of so many students lucky enough to be at Girls' Latin during her tenure. Just to share a personal experience, as a "sixie", I had left my copy of "Goodbye Mr. Chips" at school right before the Christmas vacation. She drove to my home in Jamaica Plain, through a snow storm no less, to hand deliver this book to me so that I could complete my assignment. I can see her walking up my hill through the snow and I am pretty sure she was wearing a blue coat. I will never forget her kindness and the generosity of her time. My sincere sympathy to her family at this time of loss.

I think that we all remember Miss Carroll's blue suit! I also remember that she set high academic and social standards for the students of Girls' Latin. I now pass those same high standards on to my students. I send my deepest sympathy to the Carroll family.

I also remember Miss Carroll’s blue suit! But I will also remember how she carried herself with integrity, dignity and self-respect, and taught all of us to do the same. She was a great role model. Sincere condolences to her family. GLS class of 1972

As a GLS Class of 1977 alumna I will forever be grateful for the high standards of academic and personal discipline Miss Carroll set for all of us. Her tough love of all her girls taught us to set high expectations and reach for the stars.

As a GLS alumna ('74) from Dorchester, I never would have gone to Yale if it weren't for Miss Carroll's steady influence. My sincere condolences to your family.
