I loved Peg McKeigue as a child and I loved her even more in my adulthood. As a childhood friend of the family, I enjoyed watching Peg mothering her three sons and felt sadness at the loss of her daughter. Peg always made me feel welcome and special when I visited her home.

In my adulthood, I sought Peg out when I visited Mt. Auburn Hospital for appointments. Her smile and the memories we shared were a joy for me. I missed our encounters when Peg no longer volunteered at the hospital. But I was able to learn of her well being from her friends at the hospital. And there were many.

Each time I drove down Mt Auburn Street, I always thought of Peg as I passed by her final home--always sending warm feelings her way. I will continue to do so. My only regret is that I did not stop in to visit. Missed opportunities.
