MARGARET RYAN Obituary
"Maggie" 22 - Boston - the adored daughter of Ann and Anthony Ryan and treasured sister of Matthew, William, and Thomas Ryan. Maggie's vibrant life was cut short on Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis (2016) and The Winsor School (2012). At Washington University in St. Louis, Maggie was an inspiring leader, chairing the annual student fundraising effort to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. A global health major, she interned at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston Children's Hospital, and St. Louis Children's Hospital. She planned to spend the next year in Kenya working for Mass General Global Health. Maggie loved her family and friends, had a quick sense of humor, and always knew how to find joy in even the littlest things. We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives. A celebration of Maggie's life will be held on June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church, 18 Belvidere St., Boston. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Boston Children's Hospital or Children's Miracle Network of Greater St. Louis.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I was just behind Margaret's car and saw the accident happen and was only 4 cars back when it happened. I jumped out of my car and myself and 3 others did what we could for Margaret and her passenger before the authorities arrived. I assisted in removing her passenger from the car and comforting Margaret while waiting for law enforcement or fire and rescue to arrive. I think about it everyday and only wish I could have done more. There was a doctor, and a nurse as well as an EMT that were all off duty and did everything they could. She was definitely not alone and I wanted you to know, she was with people who cared for her. She will not be forgotten.

Dear Ann,
I saw the photo of your beautiful daughter in today's Globe, and was struck with sadness that her bright future was cut short. Then I realized our paths had crossed years ago, when I worked with you on your Winchester house. Your small children were the sweetest, and I have often thought of you because I remember you as an exceptionally loving and good mother. Truly. I hope you find comfort in that thought, that Maggie's life was filled with your love for her and her brothers. And she is still wrapped in that love. No wonder she chose such a noble, caring, and adventurous career path. I am so, so sorry and send you and your entire family my sympathy.

First of all thoughts and prayers for the entire Ryan family. I was there that day on May 22nd just 3 vehicles behind, I was 1 of 3 that ran up to check the car way before any law enforcement or fire and rescue arrived. Such a tragic loss and a day I'll never forget.. RIP Maggie

Dear Ann and Family,
I want you to know that the entire Winchester community is deeply saddened to hear of dear Maggie's passing. We are thinking of you and your family during this trying time.
Maggie was a vibrant and truly special child who grew up to be an even more incredible and caring soul. She was a light to all who knew her. I will never forget her smile or her sense of humor.
I had the honor of meeting Maggie and you, Ann, when Maggie was a young girl, when you were raising the children in Winchester.
Whenever I visited your home to babysit the children, Maggie reassured me that I would be fine if I just stayed near her and tried to ignore her brothers.
Maggie was always intuitive and bright!

I am so deeply sorry for your loss, Ann.

My daughter is entering Wash U this Fall 2016, and as college decisions were being made, a mutual friend told me about Maggie, how much she had loved and thrived at Wash U, and how she was about to graduate.
